I'm not sure how us being animals is related to anything else you have written here.  I'm also completely baffled by why you think I can't complain about BOTH animals being overcrowded AND animals being modified into an unnatural existance.  I absolutely can complain about both and fully intend to.

Here is how it goes. Btw I'm making up numbers just to make a point.

People demand 10000 lbs of meat.
Companies either make 10 cows each 1000 lbs or 8 cows that are 1250 lbs.

If they make 10, the farm will be over crowded. If they make 8 they will be modifying them into "an unnatural" existance.

Get it? My philosophy is don't complain when you don't have a way to fix it yourself. Don't complain about how people run their companies when you yourself don't know a think about business or what it's about. It's about money. No matter how dirty that sounds, businesses aren't there to clean up the community or to make jobs. They are there for money. Yes, they do make jobs. But that's not the purpose. You don't open a business to supply jobs. Well, unless you run some type of company that finds jobs for people? But that's irrelevant..

Only after the last tree has been cut down, only after the last fish has been caught, only after the last river has been poisoned, only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

Right. Which is why there are rules and regulations.

You see though, that is the problem...the rules and regulations are constantly stretched and broken by big corporate meat and farm businesses.  The checks and balances in our governmental system do not work anymore and there is so much unregulated corporate money going into lobbying efforts in increase pollution limits, reduce animal product standards and to increases the amount of pesticides, herbicides and hormones that are allowed to come in contact will our food sources.  The big business of meat and farming is designed to put small farmers out of business, and it has done just that. Unfortunately, many people in this country don't care where their food comes from or even what is in it, let alone what the after-effects of food production will do to the earth.  If most people knew where their food came from and what happened to it before they got it...they would not want to eat it anymore.  So millions of dollars are spent to distract the American public from the big issues and to draw their attention to eating, drinking, watching TV and hating themselves.

It just talks about people over eating. It ISN'T the governments job to make sure it's people eat healthy!

"If America were to follow a healthy diet the department of agriculture says that nearly twice the number or acres of fruits and vegetables would have to be planted" (3:00 in video)

This just proves my point, epically from before where I was trying to explain over crowding vs altering. Pretty similar in agriculture. Hence why organic costs more. "OOO ORGANIC BUY BUY BUY!" You don't have to be extreme to be healthy.

He talks about how way back we used to consume healthy foods including fruits and dairy. Are you kidding me? If we didn't consume fruits then why does everyone love fruits and why are fruits priced so high? If no one ate them anymore they would be dirt cheap, supply demand.

As far as being vegetarian or vegan goes, my reasoning behind ever having been interested in the whole concept, was because of this book:

http://www.worldpeacediet.com/course.html

"Food is our most intimate and telling connection both with the living natural order and with our living cultural heritage. By eating the plants and animals of our earth, we literally incorporate them. It is also through this act of eating that we partake of our culture’s values and paradigms at the most primal levels. It is becoming increasingly obvious, however, that the choices we make about our food are leading to environmental degradation, enormous human health problems, and unimaginable cruelty toward our fellow creatures. Incorporating systems theory, teachings from mythology and religions, and the human sciences, The World Peace Diet presents the outlines of a more empowering understanding of our world, based on a comprehension of the far-reaching implications of our food choices and the worldview those choices reflect and mandate. The author offers a set of universal principles for all people of conscience, from any religious tradition, that they can follow to reconnect with what we are eating, what was required to get it on our plate, and what happens after it leaves our plates. The World Peace Diet suggests how we as a species might move our consciousness forward so that we can be more free, more intelligent, more loving, and happier in the choices we make."
