Welcome to the second
BloodThirsty Vegans newsletter. August 2009 Edition.
The BloodThirsty Vegans (BTVs) is a musical family that makes music (sweet, sweet music)
about
peace, love and understanding to unite the human family, foster respect for
the interconnected web of life, and remind the tribes how liberating it was to
dance the dances of
freedom.
Currently the BloodThirsty Vegans are
Michael Delaney,
My Rap Name is Alex,
Janna "MC Vendetta",
Dave Harter,
Ben Sachs &
Bryan Lohr.
Liz Bailey is AWESOME!
The BloodThirsty Vegans had an outstanding saxaphonist for a
little while there in July. Before heading off on her prestigious higher learning
adventure, Liz Bailey really rounded out our sound for three absolutely amazing
shows last month. We miss you already Liz.
BTVs in the Newspaper
Janna put on her rockstar sunglasses and showed up at Samples --a local restaurant--
to give em a taste of what the BTVs were gonna do for the Infringement Festival. The
press showed up and so Janna ended up giving a really great interview that showed up
in the Gusto section of the Buffalo News (July 17, 2009).

And on the Radio
And then while Janna was out of town WBFO --Buffalo's local NPR radio station-- came to
Burnwood to interview us and helped us out with a bit more radio promo leading up to
the Buffalo Infringement Festival...

...Which was TOTALLY AWESOME!
Yes! Buffalo Infringement Festival has delivered, once again, on the promise of
a fun time for art lovers of all stripes. We had three really great shows as a
band and a bunch of solo shows and quirky combinations. We met and performed with
a whole lot of great bands and individuals. And a big thank you to Hooizzy of
Constant Climax for coming through and rocking the spot with us without any
rehearsals at the Gathering of the Rhymes.
New BTV t-shirt!
The BTV black and white stickers were a big hit. We are working on getting some color
stickers next. In the meantime, we just designed a new BTVs t-shirt over at cafepress.
Available in a wide assortment of sizes and colors. Grab one if you need one.

July 17: Live Recording
Our buddy Jay came over to Burnwood along with a couple dozen of our friends and
we recorded some new material for our websites and press kits. Our friend Amanda
even recorded some video and here's a link to one such video:

July 25: The Mixed Bag
Following an amazing Rock Opera, "Oscar & the Hooker",
we played an awesome show where we got to meet and share the stage with
Night Gallery, Quest for Friends & Curiosity's End.
July 26: PorchRock 2: The Lawn Disco Returns
Man o man the lawn disco was AWESOME! We celebrated MC Vendetta & Dave Harter's
one year anniversary in style with free hugs, live music, a disco ball,
hula hooping, dancing, and Dave even juggled fire for us. Let's do it again
next year!
July 30: Nietzsche's Gathering of the Rhymes
We had a nice crowd turn out to see an awesome live Hip Hop show with
the BTVs, Subsoil, Soul Bodega & Askew's Livematic Vibes
