Greg: Do You Even Know by the BloodThirsty Vegans

[laughter]

Greg: You guys are gonna be shooting a video for that coming up on Sunday is it?

Janna: On Sunday. At the Naval Park.

Dave: The tail end of the video. We have most of it, ah, most of it shot with costumes and funny accents and all

Greg: So people can watch it when it's done up on the myspace or your website?

I think so, I think we're gonna put it... it's definitely going on the CD too so.

Janna: Yes. Yeah, we're gonna try to do enhanced CD that has the full version of the video and the out takes bloopers and...

Dave: of which there were plenty.

Janna: and a whole bunch of you know...

Greg: The best part is the bloopers. Come on.

Janna: still pictures and all sorts of funny stuff

Greg: Very cool. And that'll be out by the end of the year you were sayin earlier?

Dave: That's right

Janna: Hopefully.

Alex: We're hopin.

Greg: Crossing your fingers. Very cool. So...

Dave: We shot it over at Burnwood Studeios where Mr. Bryan Lohr over here runs an artistic venue um and we play a lot. I dunno if he wants to talk about that at all

Greg: Would you like to shout it out.

Bryan: Nope.

[laughter]

Greg: Alright. We'll continue on.

Dave: There we go.

Greg: There it is. Everything you need to know

Dave: about Burnwood Studios

Greg: Yes. yes.

Bryan: In a nutshell.

Janna: If you don't know already you ain't gonna know.[laughter]

Greg: So you were saying people can get in... that people have been shooting videos that you put on the website and such.

Dave: Yeah, like the art scene in Buffalo is so cool and people supporting each other and um, we just happen to be friends with some of those people that are artists that do video and photography and uh, um, I don't know Amanda's last name but

Bryan: It's hard to pronounce. It starts with a G

Dave: okay. Amanda starts with a G. um.

Bryan: She just opened up the Vault downtown on Main street.

Dave: Yeah. Yeah.

Janna: Hi Amanda. She might be listening.

Dave: Downtown on Main. It's this beautiful

Janna: Beautiful gallery. So go to the Vault of you see a flyer that says Vault that's where you should go cause it's [singing] "awesome".

Bryan: on the corner of West Tupper.

Alex: I think it's like 712 or something like that.

Bryan: Somethin like that. Right across from the cop station.

There hopefully will be a really awesome Japanese Drum workshop potluck dinner and performance there next Sunday. Hopefully. so keep your eye out for that

Greg: cough cough hint hint

[laughter]

Janna: All the way from New York City so hopefully that happens. Next Sunday.

Alex: That's sorta like the whole nature of this band is that like everybody has all kinds of talents to contribute. And like Janna and I met each other through the poetry scene. so many people that we know locally that just um are part of our family I mean this band has... it's, it's got tentacles that go out

I heard things recently from another band that will go totally unnamed that... about like cattyness in the Buffalo music scene which we've never experienced I mean we've always experienced people that are like oh yeah let's set up this show or like let's help you do this thing and you know that and it's a very family oriented scene here

Alex: Yeah, we might be totally We might be like so naive that we're completely oblivious

Dave: Could be. Could be.

Alex: maybe we have all kinds of haters that we just like smile past

Janna: and I don't know. And like even if they did,

Dave: Meh. We're still smiling.

Janna: Exaclty!

Greg: You gotta have fun with it.

Janna: That's the other thing about us. we are known as the most fun band in the universe.

Dave: Proven by Science!

Janna: It's scientifically proven by science

[laughter]

Greg: I see you guys you keep just crackin up so

Janna: I know it sounds funny but it's seriously true. we have more fun playing music together and playing music for people than I think anybody in the entire world does.

Bryan: Just ask her dad. He represents science.

Janna: He does. He's a big time science research man.

Greg: Fancy scmancy.

Janna: He's all famous and stuff. And even he says so.

Greg: And he'll be featured at your show?

Alex: on our website if you go to the gallery section and flip through the pictures you will see like a very intricate and awesome logic proof that like basically just proves it, just shows... It spells it out.

Janna: It's written on a chalk board

Dave: In symbols everybody can understand

Greg: It has to be official if its on a chalk board

Dave: That's right. That's right.

Greg: Official stuff.

Janna: That's where all scientific theories start out right?

Dave: Yep.

Alex: Totally iron clad. Proof.

Janna: even more proven

[sound]

Janna: Holy Cow,

Dave: That was almost like a God effect right there I feel.

Janna: It's now spiritually proven by God.

Dave: It wasn't spring reverb from the mic thing it was God right there.

Janna: speaking of people making videos with us and stuff, um, Sue Marie who set up the show that's gonna be this coming Sunday (at the Naval Park (you should all go)) she made a whole bunch of PR videos for it and one of the videos that she did featured our song called "All Winners" and uh, so you should check that out if you google Artist United for Human Rights many, many, many, many things will pop up including the videos she made and all the flyers and the people who are also playing and it's going to be really awesome.

Greg: Since they put all this work into it, you might as well go.

Janna: Exactly.

Greg: That's what I'm thinkin

Janna: And it's free!

Dave: and guess where you can hear our song. guess where you can hear our song "All Winners".

Bryan: India?

Greg: At the show?

Dave: That too.

Janna: Right now?

Dave: Yeah! She got it! Yay! [laughter]

Janna: That's my final answer.

Greg: That was the next one.

Greg: So we're gonna get into that next. You wanna give us some more about what it's about before we get into the song?

It's, it's, how long do we have? It's a very long explaination

How long do we have? It's a very long explaination.

Greg: It's a very long explaination?

Alex: Well I guess I can sum it up

Janna: Do the quick and clean.

Greg: We got Joni Russ coming in after you so...

Alex: Yeah. Uh. Once upon a time I came back from hippy came and I had been in a place where everyone was inclined to touch and hug each other and...uh, be kind. like intentional community. And I felt so good that over the course of the next eleven months I wrote this song

Janna: And it's just awesome.

Dave: 11 months? Holy Cow! I didn't know that. Here here.

Greg: Very good, very good. We'll listen to the music, we'll talk to you a little more and then we got one more song we're gonna hear from you guys before you get out of here.

Dave: Thank you.

Greg: Blodthirsty Vergins... bleh. BloodThirsty Vegans.

Dave: You got it.

Greg: Yes!

Janna: say that 10 times fast.

Greg: I will try.

Dave: BloodThirsty Vegans, BloodThirsty Vegans, BloodThirsty Vegans, BloodThirsty Vegans, BloodThirsty Vegans, ah... you can play the song.
All Winners
lyrics by A. Mead,
performed by BloodThirsty Vegans: My Rap Name is Alex, MC Vendetta, B. Lohr, B. Sachs, D. Harter
Who says people with pimples ain't appealin?
or skinny blonde girls don't have feelins?
who told you you were too big to be sexy?
or that the quiet voice is not worth respecting?
Who says a magazine cover's what you're spozed to be?
Cause... just as you are you look beautiful to me.
You're not too short, too fat, too black or too tall
I see nothing wrong with you at all
and as soon as we get your wings unferled
your gifts are going to change the whole world

I wanted to know love I had to do this first
see the truth of the beauty of the women of the Earth
the children of the Earth, the men of the Earth
the beauty of myself, you know, my self worth
the truth and the beauty of the people in between
in the whole web of life if you know what I mean
Heather K, gotta say "gratitude to the end"
For what you added to my life, helped me find all my friends
and the interconnections upon which life depends
maybe some day we find a way make amends

And we're all winners here
fighting to be free from fear
we're all winners here
to me that's just crystal clear

Who says there's insufficient love for us to overcome our fears?
we ain't tryin to hear that. They been sayin that for years
And why they work so hard on tryin to divide us?
could it be that they're afraid of what's inside us?
Birds gotta sing, wolves gotta eat
we gotta rock to the beat, try to get you out your seat
You ain't weak or asleep or a creep or alone
So when I say REVOLUTION, c'mon let's get it on
And as soon as we get our wings unferled
Our gifts are going to change the whole world

What if we turned off the tv
and I touched you, and you touched me
and what if we just giggled for fun
and run out into the sun where we all just fall into one
and then start talkin to a stranger, flirtin with danger
  communicate and relate without anger
we could play a game. Everyone could win it
we could eat a meal with no animals in it
go out and get our grove on and dance until the dawn an'
remember it all in the mornin'

And we're all winners here
fighting to be free from fear
we're all winners here
to me that's just crystal clear

Who's the one that said that it was wrong to hug the trees
Or that we shouldn't just dangle in the breeze
Who says that a woman that likes sex is bad
That kind of thing just makes me mad
And who says a man is not a man if he's not strong
And who says there's such a thing as do not belong
You ain't wrong, so come on, come along, sing a song
Time to recognize you been strong all along
And as soon as we get our wings unferled
Our gifts are going to change the whole world

There's no self-made men, we're all made by our moms
gratitude to every mom and we all shine on
like the moon and the stars and the sun and the one
everything, freedom rings once we all can have fun
  We stand together... we overcome
as one human family no matter where you're from
and now the world don't move to the beat of one drum
but gratitude because there's enough drums for everyone
there's enough of everything when we live within our means
give your love and your touch and your rice and your beans
and your smile. It's free, give it away, give it away
might bounce around the world and save your life some day

And we're all winners here
fighting to be free from fear
we're all winners here
to me that's just crystal clear
