like the music they can come see you play? or...
Janna: Indeed we do. Ah, We are playing tomorrow um, for a all ages dance party potluck
dinner event at the Unitarian Universalist church that's on Elmwood and West Ferry
Dave: and it's great dancing and kids and music and food and it's you know you bring food
and there's a lot of other people with food and there's people from all over the world that
show up so it's a diversity of food and culture and dance it's great
Greg: So what if you... so what if you don't bring food?
Dave: If you don't bring food you could donate, I mean you could just be a nice...
Alex: We ask for a $5.00 donation
Dave: Yeah.
Greg: and then you can get food?
Dave: Yeah.
Greg: Okay.
Dave: Then you can get food and dance and be merry
and it's also kind of an open mic too so if you've got your drum
and there are sections in the night where you can join us musically
and have a good time too.
Janna: Yeah. and it's... the potluck dinner starts around 6. and then we usually start
the show around 7 and we encourage little kids to come and rock the open mic too because
there's not many places where little kids can can come rock open mics,
Greg: Very cool. where is that again?
Janna: It's at the Unitarian Universalist church
on Elmwood and West Ferry.
Alex: 695 Elmwood
Greg: Very cool. Very cool.
Janna: You're on point Alex.
Dave: Always looking to add to our army of toddlers
Alex: Yes.
Greg: so, you have an army.
Dave: We have an army.
Alex: a toddler army
Dave: a friendly army
Janna: They come to our shows and make us sign posters for them
for them so they can hang them on their walls
Dave: Yes. They shoot... only smiles do they shoot.
Alex: And then on Sunday we have a show
Janna: Yes!
Greg: Oh. You wanna shout that one out?
Janna: Go ahead Alex.
Alex: Uh, Sunday we're actually bringing our messages of love and peace to the uh, Naval Park
[laughter]
Greg: And how did that work?
Dave: Yeah, how did we get that gig?
Alex: Susan, Susan Marie, who's a friend of poets everywhere and a friend of um,...
Janna: Musicians and artists and activists
Alex: a friend of all
Janna: Yes.
Alex: Ah, She's very, very passionate about uh, um, the Human Rights cause
and about um, whatever we can do to curtail child abuse and domestic abuse
and such. I think October is Domestic Abuse awareness month and so there is an
event on Sunday Artists United for Human Rights and uh we were fortunate enough to
um have her ask us to play and we said "of course"
Greg: so very cool.
Dave: It's gonna be on the battle ship too. So man... I mean
I've never even been on one of those guys.
Janna: It's free! It's free. It starts at 12 noon and there's non stop live music all
day long untill 7 at night and I'm not telling you what time we're playing because you
have to come and watch all day to find us.
Alex: And all day long, we're uh, well, interspersed, we'll be shooting a music video
Dave: That's right. The end of our music video.
so you can be in that too if you show up
Janna: Yes because we want lots of awesome fun people to be dancing in the crowd
and on the ship and eating food and helping out the world
Dave: as an added bonus I may be juggling fire and getting tackled off the boat by the navy
So if you wanna see that... too.
Greg: That's after you go on right?
Dave: That's right. that's after we're done with the video. And all the other stuff.
Janna: But yes, it's at the Naval Park from 12 until 7.
and the Perl Street Brewery is gonna be selling food and drink and what not
and there'll be lots of live painting and artists and it's gonna be awesome.
Greg: it's free, might as well
Dave: Yeah. Absolutely.
Greg: That's what I say. I have to thank Susan Marie for getting me in contact with
you guys in here
Janna: Indeed. She's like PR master mistress and that's her...
Greg: I have to give her thanks for that one.
Janna: Indeed. But ah, the video we're doing is for our song called "Do You Even Know"
Greg: Which we're playing in a couple times? Or should we play that next?
Dave: Ah. Why not?
Janna: We can play it next. That would work.
Greg: Alright Well what's the song about?
Janna: It's really fun.
Bryan: Nothing.
Greg: Nothing? At all?
Dave: It's about feeling good and having a good time. That's what it's about.
Janna: I guess mainly about me, or Dave playing a cool drum beat and me asking him
if he knows what he's trying to do [laughter]
Janna: You'll see. but, it's you know, it gives you a little taste of what kind of
craziness goes on when you're part of the BloodThirsty Vegans family
Dave: Woooo! Woooooo! Crazy!
[laughter]
Greg: So we'll get into the music and then we'll talk to you more.
Maybe about joining the family.or helping out?
Dave: Definitely.
Greg: Very cool. Thank you so much for joining us, BloodThirsty Vegans here in
the studio for the local show on WBNY.
Do You Even Know

performed by BloodThirsty Vegans: MC Vendetta, My Rap Name is Alex, D. Harter, B. Lohr, B. Sachs
Do You Even Know What You're Tryin to do?
Do You Even Know What You're Tryin to do?
Oh-Oh!
No I don't believe I do
Well I was trying to make myself a sandwich
Hey, hey, what is goin on, on, nothin, nothin oh!
Every time I ask you what is up, man, you don't never know.
No. I never do. Ho ho ho haw haw.
Do You Even Know What You're Tryin to do?
Do You Even Know What You're Tryin to do?
Hey, hey, who, who, who, who, lost the remote control.
Mmmm not me.
Who, who, who had it last. Baby I don't know.
Did you check the couch cushions?
Do You Even Know What You're Tryin to do?
Do You Even Know What You're Tryin to do?
Woa-Oh!
No. I don't, and this line of questioning is becoming tiresome
Anybody got some hot sauce?
Do You Even Know What You're Tryin to do?
No. I don't know.
Why you spending more on your tv than you spendin on your children yo?
Do you really need to watch that Judge Joe Brown high def and in stereo
When you show up you better be ready to dance at the BloodThirsty Vegans show
Gotta take that love, take it out, spread it around, because love is what makes it go
